He is a graduate in the faculty of Science and a Post Graduate in Business Administration with specialization in Finance. He is responsible for the entire finance and accounting of the Company. He is the key person behind the strong and stable growth of the Company by lending the requisite financial and commercial support. He is the promoter of the Company and involved in the business activities since inception.

Mrs. Malati S. Kalmadi, (Founder Director, SaiSTA)

Malati Shridhar Kalmadi is a distinguished leader with deep-rooted expertise in both the automotive sector and education, bringing together a unique blend of technical innovation, community welfare, and academic excellence. She is a Director on the Board of Sai Service Spares & Accessories Private Limited, a key player in the automotive industry, known for its commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction. Married to Mr. Shridhar Shamarao Kalmadi, the visionary behind Sai Service as well as the co-founder & Chairman of Neuton – Auto, a new age electric OEM. A pioneer in monocoque technology in India, she shares his legacy of quality, precision, and social responsibility, with a focus on advancing technical education and empowering youth through skill-based learning. Following her parents’ footsteps, Ms. Aarthi K Parigi, the cofounder & managing director of Neuton Auto is a seasoned brand development & marketing leader with 20+ years of experience in design & sustainability.

Malati Kalmadi has been an integral force behind the Kaveri Group of Institutes since 1989. As Managing Trustee of Kannada Sangha, Pune, she has led the group’s expansion to include schools affiliated with SSC, CBSE, and ICSE boards, along with a college under Savitribai Phule Pune University. Her leadership extends to pioneering vocational education initiatives, reinforcing the belief that sound education combined with practical, skill-based training is essential for empowering first-generation learners and eradicating poverty.

A strong advocate for nation-building through holistic education, Malati Kalmadi conceptualized the Automotive Skill Academy (SaiSTA)—a platform dedicated to equipping out-of-school youth with industry-relevant technical skills. This academy reflects her vision to bridge the gap between formal education and practical expertise, empowering young people to contribute meaningfully to India’s growing automotive sector while improving their livelihoods.

Her academic qualifications reflect her commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence. She holds a postgraduate degree in English, alongside specialized training in Communication Media for Children, School Psychology, Gifted Education, and Experiential Learning. Her expertise in education led her to establish the Kaveri Gifted Education and Research Centre in 2014, which is internationally affiliated with the European Council for High Ability. The center focuses on identifying and nurturing gifted children through teacher training, curriculum innovation, and counseling, making Kaveri a hub for advanced educational research and practice.

Malati Kalmadi is also a core team member of the Anjali Morris Foundation, supporting children with learning disabilities, and has championed initiatives like the Mindful Parenting Program and Gram Setu, which connects urban and rural education. Her dedication to vocational education stems from a deep belief that the Right to Education policy, while transformative, must be complemented by practical skill development to prepare youth for real-world challenges.

A guiding force behind Kaveri’s Talent Hubs in STEM, Mathematics, and Performing Arts, she has extended her vision beyond traditional academics to ensure that all children—regardless of background—have access to quality learning experiences. Her involvement in national policy discussions, including the Dhruv project under the Pradhan Mantri Innovative Learning Program, further reflects her influence in shaping educational policies that address the diverse needs of learners across India.

With her people-centered approach and forward-thinking vision, Malati Kalmadi continues to drive the mission of empowering youth through education, vocational training, and automotive skill development, ensuring that learning remains a powerful tool for personal growth and national progress.

Lakshmi Gandhi - Project Director

Lakshmi Gandhi believes deeply in the innate potential of every child. With 37 years of rich experience in classroom practice and pedagogical innovation, she began her career as a Mathematics teacher in one of Pune’s leading schools. Her journey reflects a lifelong commitment to quality education, equity, and profound respect for learners.

She has spearheaded numerous national and international educational initiatives, always striving to create meaningful and inclusive learning experiences. Lakshmi holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor’s in Education. She is also an alumna of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and has audited postgraduate courses in Leadership in Education and Principles of Curriculum Development from the University of Maryland, US. She also has a Green Belt Certification in Career Counselling from Univariety, UCLA.

Her excellence in teaching has been recognized globally—she is a recipient of the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program, Honeywell Educator @ Space Academy, and serves as an Educator Ambassador at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
In the classroom, Lakshmi has always emphasized hands-on, project-based learning. She introduced her students to real-world problem-solving through initiatives like Dassault Systemes’ Seed the Future Entrepreneur competition. She has implemented innovative methods such as BALA (Building as Learning Aid) and reverse engineering to make abstract concepts concrete and engaging.

As Principal of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Baner, Pune, she led the school with vision and care. Post-retirement, she served as Honorary Consultant Advisor to a renowned school run by the Poona Women’s Council, dedicated to providing quality education to marginalized communities.

Personally, she has mentored students from Zilla Parishad schools, supporting them through school and into higher education. At SaiSTA, she continues her mission—to help youth from underserved communities acquire skills that lead to meaningful employment and empowerment.
